CIP / COP Systems
CIP (Clean in Place) systems are intended for cleaning and chemical disinfection of technological equipment in the form of process and storage tanks, mixers and process pipelines in the pharmaceutical, chemical and broadly defined food industry plants, wherever high quality, safety and compliance with rigid hygiene standards are required.
Kates Polska Sp. z. o.o. is the first company in the Polish market to produce wash stations capable of working in explosion-risk zones, as well as containing an explosion-risk zone within them (the washing agent being an organic solvent or petrol) compliant with the high standards of safety set out in the 94/9/EC (ATEX) directive, as confirmed by a notified body in an EC type examination certificate.
Classification of wash systems:
with respect to operation:
- manual (for end-users seeking a cheaper CIP solution);
- semi-automatic (for end-users seeking to balance the cost of acquisition with the cost of operation);
- automatic (a perfect solution for production plants requiring a CIP system with a high degree of automation and the resulting standard of safety. The advanced level of automation permits minimization of the consumption of washing agents, energy, water, or another washing medium, as well as human labour.)
with respect to the process involved:
- single- and multi-track systems
- single- and two-phase systems
with respect to design:
- mobile or stationary system
- two- and three-tank systems
The CIP systems of our manufacture may be equipped with a dedicated control system including a program permitting high-degree automation of the process to increase its efficiency and safety, thus reducing the costs of operation.
According the the final user’s individual requirement, our CIP systems may be freely configured to include:
- a unit for heating up and adjusting the temperature of the washing solution
- a unit for measuring and controlling the concentration of washing agents within the CIP system (while the washing solution is being prepared) and in the solution returning to the CIP system (in order to monitor the concentration of impurities in the washings)
Depending on the control system complexity, it is possible to visualize and record selected parameters of the production process, with particular operators being allowed access to selected functionalities. The automatic control system may be serviced remotely via a local area network or the Internet.
The CIP systems of our manufacture may be equipped with a module for thermal (hot-air) drying of transmission lines and devices.

- Acidic washing agent tank
- Alkaline washing agent tank (optional)
- Rinsing water tank
- Reclaimed water tank (optional – permits the reuse the final-rinse water during the subsequent washing initial rinsing)
- Monitoring and control unit (for measuring the concentration of washing agents, temperature and level)
- Circulating pump
- Washing agent feeding pump
- Installations (cycles)
- Control system.
COP (Clean out of Place) systems are intended for stationary cleaning of technological equipment in the form of mobile tanks, bins, dismountable elements of process devices and other auxiliary equipment in the pharmaceutical, chemical and broadly defined food industry plants, wherever high quality, safety and compliance with rigid hygiene standards are required.

The COP systems of our manufacture may be equipped with a dedicated control system or be interconnected with other devices within a line.
COP systems may include built-in components of a CIP system or be connected to an external CIP system (a number of COP systems connected to a CIP system or a COP system connected to a CIP system feeding other devices).
